Event log error message from VSS during backup Started by arnstein , Jan 24 2005 09:47 PM Please log in to reply 11 replies to this topic #1 arnstein arnstein Occasional However, it is logged as an "Error" so I would very much like to get it cleared up ASAP. I never got these errors with 6.5, but get one at the start of each scheduled backup now that I am using 7.0. I'm running Windows XP Professional SP2, fully patched (until next week....) I do not see more than one instance of the error, as others have posted.

Last night, one backup job caused 15 of these messages:[7704] VSS Type: ERROR Computer: OWL Time: 2005-01-24 4:00:31 AM ID: 12289Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error GetVolumeNameForVolumeMountPointW( \\?\Volume{000821f6-6aa9-11d9-b0d2-0007e9877fce}\, ...). I would keep an close eye on the Retrospect logs for errors.Nate Back to top #5 Guest__* Guest__* Guests Posted 05 February 2005 - 02:44 PM I was going to post Several functions may not work.
