I have the 100% same exact error. Just copy/paste-ing (replacing) the corrupted files can fix my 0x800f0818 at Windows update (Windows7). Any help or where I should start troubleshooting will be gratefully received. This is going to be a multi-step fix.

We still need to copy files from a working machine. We'll just have to wait and see.
