I would update to IE8 but its one of the requirements on this network is to have IE7. my pc have a windows vista home premium with 3 derives (C:, D:, F:). Type the following command: icacls /setintegritylevel (OI)(CI)low NOTE: Replace the tag with the actual path to your Favorites folder, enclosed with double-quotes.

This is not causing me any problems (other than I know it shouldn't be like that) and IE8 and the Favorites list is working just fine. About twenty minutes later Microsoft Updates appears with a Critical Update...IE8 I thought and figured I had nothing to lose after all it would be a fresh install. Try this to see if resetting the Shell:Favorites location back to default helps:Modifying REGISTRY settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. I made corrections to my original post.

Vista General Adding folder to favorites?Windows Explorer has a favorites pane in the upper left. http://fullflash.net/unspecified-error/unspecified-error-adding-favorites-ie8.html right click on "Favorites" icon on the right side panel. Select "Properties". This part of the forum is for Windows 7 questions/answers only. Let's try the simplest solution first - this usually repairs problems of this nature and is one of my favorite and most effective troubleshooting tools.
it read just as your example box said, typed in exit then tried to add a favorite, it didn't work. It worked for me. If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two. http://fullflash.net/unspecified-error/unspecified-error-favorites.html This seems like a permissions issue.
